The Northern Territory election is on August 22nd .
There are no overseas polling stations for Nothern Territory elections so overseas NT Voters need to apply to vote by post.
Australia Post has advised the NTEC that there are considerable delays in overseas mail delivery services as a result of COVID-19. If you believe you will be affected by these delays please contact us on 1800 698 683 to discuss.
Voting by post
Voting by post is an option for those electors that cannot vote in person. Postal ballot papers will be sent from Monday, 10 August 2020 to your nominated address. Applications can be made now.

When will the ballot papers be sent to me?
Once the declaration of nominations and draw to determine the order of candidate names on the ballot paper is conducted on Thursday, 6 August 2020; ballot papers are printed and ballot material is forwarded as soon as possible thereafter.
What is the latest dispatch of ballot material?
The mail-out of ballot material ceases at 5:00 pm on:
- the Tuesday, 18 August 2020, to forwarding addresses outside Australia.
- the Thursday, 20 August 2020, to forwarding addresses within Australia.
Therefore, your application form must be received by the Commission before the above-mentioned day/time to allow for the ballot papers to reach your nominated address.
When do I complete my ballot paper?
In order to be admitted to the count, postal vote ballot papers must be completed before 6:00 pm on Saturday, 22 August 2020 and received by the Commission before 12:00 noon on Friday, 4 September 2020.
